For most artists their interest in art started with some sort of painting or sculpture done by a renowned artist. In my case it was when I'd seen a car that looked like no other(1959 Cadillac Eldorado) and from that point I'd taken a serious interest in automotive design because I wanted to be able to create something as unique as that someday because after I'd learned the name of that car I'd found out that it had been solely designed so to look different than any other car of its time. I was exactly skilled in drawing my own designs but the interest in automotive design had sparked a much more serious interest in automotive mechanics and the workings of the combustion engine and I was very skilled with coming up with ideas for different types of mechanical combinations which at the time, I didn't think was art. The art class offered at my elementary and middle school was not nearly as serious or as demanding as the art class I'm currently taking during High school. During my freshmen year I took a specific liking to types of pieces like the parabolic curve and zen graphic notation. I mainly liked them because of how simple those works to create but became more complex depending on how much detail and effort you put into them. Typically most artists find their liking in painting, although while I was first starting to create paintings during my sophomore year of art, I really disliked the entire preparation process such as mixing paints and choosing which areas to expose to light and which areas to add darkness. Sculpting with clay and creating objects that couldn't be resembling of anything was something I enjoyed. But unfortunately while I was good a coming up with ideas and creating, I had lacked in the preparation areas, such as wrapping it in newspaper or making sure to not let it be exposed to the air during storage. Since I lacked in those areas my final piece was often in pieces or an entirely different shape. These experiences let me realize were I was more than capable and where I was lacking. With that newfound knowledge I began to take an interest in other art programs outside of school and now I have hopes to take art or some sort of personal design with me to whichever career path I choose in the future.
